Republicans file for Office in Florence County

FLORENCE, SC --

Florence County Republican Party Secretary, Elijah Jones opened the doors of Sonshine Management Center at noon to a crowd of GOP candidates ready to file for political office in Florence county.

Nine candidates file:

L-R_ Caudle, Lowe, Fowler, Boone, Leatherman, (FCGOP Chairman Bill Pickle center) Crawford, Poston, Von Lutcken, and Minck

Incumbent Republicans Officials filing:

Sen. Hugh K. Leatherman Senate District 3

Rep.Kris Crawford S.C. House District 63

Rep.Phillip Lowe S.C. House District 60

Sheriff Kenney Boone, Florence County Sheriff

Treasurer Dean Fowler who also filed Friday.

County Councilman Roger Poston District 2

Florence realtor and small businesswoman Susan Minck

Florence School District 1 Trustee Willard Dorriety, Jr. (filed on Monday)

The Florence County Republican Party placed this notice in the News Journal as required by SC state election law. Please share it with your friends,someone you know in Florence county may be considering public service and yet be unaware of the filing deadlines. Print advertising is costly, your local political parties do not have the funds to place these notices everywhere they would like, please help to get the word out. Florence County needs good people in both parties to step up and serve our community. Thank you to all who place yourself in public view and much public scrutiny in an effort to create a better Florence County.

PUBLIC NOTICE OF CANDIDATE FILING & FILING FEES

for June 12, 2012 Republican Primary for Florence City & County Republican Party Compliant with S.C. Code of Laws § 7-13-45

Filing for the below listed offices will open at noon on Friday, March 16, 2012 and will close at noon on Friday, March 30, 2012. Candidates wishing to file for office shall do so at SonShine Management Systems, Inc. located at 1340 Celebration Blvd Unit C in Florence, SC 29501. The office will be open for candidates to file during regular office hours (9:00am to 5:00pm) during the above set forth filing period. Candidates should contact Elijah Jones, Florence County Republican Party Secretary, at 843-992- 7664 to schedule an appointment for available filing times in advance or for additional information.

Voting will occur at all city and county precincts Voters must be registered by May 12, 2012 to participate in the primary.

SC House of Representatives - $208.00/ea. (Districts 59, 60, 61, 62, 63)

Clerk of Court - $3222.76

County Council - $632.40/ea. (Districts 2, 4, 5, 9)
